A 3 class Yoga Punx workshop for the BIPOC community.
Friday April 30, May 7, 14
6:00 - 7:30 pm
Restorative yoga focuses on stress reduction and the release of chronic muscle tension through gentle adaptations of traditional yoga postures. The purpose of this workshop is to practice experiencing calmness in our bodies so rest and relaxation can occur at our deepest level- the nervous system. Props are used for each pose and customized to fully support each individual so they can find comfort and ease in each posture, which are held for extended periods of time.
This workshop will begin with an introduction to the science behind the body’s response to stress and trauma, then focus on why it is so important as BIPOC to give ourselves the time to recalibrate. Each class will start with a simple meditation or breathing exercise, followed by time dedicated to building community with one another where everyone will have space to speak, or just listen in support.
